Support Bank of Nature, a program of the Cape Cod Center for Sustainability
As you know, Bank of Nature is more than a newsletter. Bank of Nature is a strategic program of the Cape Cod Center for Sustainability, a tax-receipt granting 501c3 nonprofit organization in Massachusetts, to address the climate impasse.
We’re asking for financial support. Why?
We are doing unique work in the world of climate and climate security.
We are building strategies for climate-scale finance with the tools at hand.
We’re gaining traction on strategies through legislation, international networks and the media.
We’re defining a “post-growth” fiduciary economy.
We can amplify all of it with a bigger bank account.
The work we are doing at Bank of Nature is called The Untaken Safer Alternative Path — and it is a planet-scale proposal for paying for near-future climate-security with the tools at hand. What about the status quo is “unsafe” to our common future? What can we do that is not yet being done? Ours is a plan unlike anything else in the world.
“This is a fascinating argument, a truly imaginative one”
Rachel Donald, host of Planet: Critical, September 2023
1) You can donate directly.
US donations of US$250 or more will receive a 100% tax deductible receipt — and heaps of gratitude.
In this post-COVID world, we are rebuilding infrastructure, capacity and our ability to take our work out into the world. Your financial assistance helps us with operations, research, conference attendance, conference hosting and maintaining our digital presence, among other “keeping the solar-powered lights on” expenses. For instance:
Our accountant and regulatory filings are $900 per year
Our web costs are $1000 per year
We want to commission research into how fiduciary money shapes our economy and future: $5000
We want to present at conferences to share our ideas: $5000+
Please consider becoming a donor to Bank of Nature through the Cape Cod Center for Sustainability. Email me to set up a meeting to discuss a donor partnership plan. ian@bankofnature.eco
2) You can subscribe to this newsletter, if you haven’t already.
There are lots of options for upgrading to paid subscriptions. All of our content will remain free. For those of you who can afford to support this initiative, I’m working on a ton of ideas through our unique Bank of Nature lens and will post them when they are ready for your review. Thanks for reading, sharing, liking and commenting.
3) You can promote our work to your networks.
Endorsements, connections and introductions help us build our networks. Vouching for us as a project worth the time of your colleagues is another way to support the Bank of Nature movement.
Cape Cod Center for Sustainability is, itself, over 30 years old, but it has been going through reinvention since I took it over in 2017. Since our founding in the early 1990s, sustainability has evolved to be mainstream. Yet, we still find ourselves in an expanding, ever-more-urgent climate crisis. So, we explore the environmental, legal, philosophical, sociological and economic answers to the question “Why?”
Thank you for your interest and support.
